DishPal Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to DishPal! By downloading, installing, or using the DishPal application ("App" or "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Service Description

2.1 Features

DishPal is a meal planner, shopping list and kitchen inventory offering:

• Shopping lists generated from dishes and recipes, with ingredients combined and grouped by aisle
• A weekly menu, a recipe box and a fridge, freezer and pantry inventory
• Widgets, Lock Screen shopping, an Apple Watch app and cooking mode
• Optional sync and family sharing through your own iCloud account

2.2 AI Features

• AI features use Apple Intelligence or, if you add one, your own API key for a third-party provider. Use of a third-party provider is subject to that provider's terms and charges, which are your responsibility.
• AI output (ingredient lists, amounts, recipe steps, shelf scans and estimated expiry dates) can be wrong. Check it yourself, especially for allergens, dietary needs and food safety. DishPal is not a nutrition, medical or food-safety service.

3. Eligibility

• Must be 13+ to use the App
• Ages 13–18 require parental/guardian consent
• Users must have the legal capacity to accept these Terms

4. Accounts and Data

• No account creation is required
• Users retain ownership of their content
• Data is stored on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. Content you share with family members is visible to them until you stop sharing.

5. DishPal Premium, Purchases and Refunds

• DishPal is free to download. DishPal Premium is offered as a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
• Users who bought DishPal while it was a paid download keep Premium at no extra cost.
• Billing and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.

6. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer or tamper with the App
• Bypass security protections
• Use the App for unauthorized commercial purposes
• Distribute malware or disrupt services

Users are responsible for their own content and must avoid illegal or harmful material.

7. Intellectual Property

• The App and all components are owned by us and protected under copyright and trademark law
• Users are granted a limited, non-transferable, personal license for non-commercial use only
• "DishPal" and associated logos are our trademarks

• We strive for reliable service but cannot guarantee 100% uptime
• iOS 16.0 or higher may be required for some features
• We may update, modify, or remove features from time to time

10. Disclaimers

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties
• Users bear all risks of use, including data loss
• Third-party content or links are used at users' own risk

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the App (if any)
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

12. Termination

• Users may stop using the App or delete it at any time
• We may suspend or terminate service for violations, abuse, or legal reasons

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation
• If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to arbitration or local courts depending on jurisdiction
• These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms with notice as required. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.

15. Miscellaneous

• These Terms, along with the Privacy Policy, form the complete agreement
• Invalid provisions do not affect the rest of the Terms
• Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our rights
